The USS Yosemite Association Website has a new feature to capture the stories of the crew. We all know we lose shipmates every year, and our USS Yosemite’s oral history is slowly being lost. Our goal this year is to capture as many stories as possible from the crew and post these stories in our Blog on this website.
You can write your store and email it to info@ussyosemite.net. Or, you can use the online form to write your story by clicking on USS Yosemite Association Online Request of Your Story. If you have an iPhone and can bring up the form in your phone browser, you can speak your story in the Your Story field using the microphone icon at the bottom right of the screen. The submitted stories will be read at the Reunion and posted on our Blog.
Yosemite Sam is the traditional mascot of the US Navy ship that bears his name. In 1979, Warner Brother Studios gave permission to reproduce Yosemite Sam's likeness for the USS Yosemite use.
