Yosemite Sam is the traditional mascot of the US Navy ship that bears his name. In 1979, Warner Brother Studios gave permission to reproduce Yosemite Sam's likeness for the USS Yosemite use.
Our mission is to keep the memory of the USS Yosemite AD-19 alive.

I always loved the ship, and went to Naples and Malta in summer of 69 then another trip to NYC in October of 70 and a trip to Gitmo
It took me a minute to recognize this photo. It is the forward mess deck looking to the port side. That is the door to the post office in the background.
